Vice President, LatAm
As Vice President for Latin America, Catalina leads Blue Marble's strategy and venture portfolio in the region. She is responsible for building on Blue Marble's talent model and access to risk capital to protect underserved populations from critical risks for which the market does not offer protection.
Catalina has a joint appointment with Aspen, where she serves as VP Business Development Microinsurance and Senior Risk Analyst. Catalina previously held positions on inclusive business, responsible investing and strategic asset allocation at Zurich Insurance Group. Prior to this, she worked for the OECD, UNCTAD and WTO on various development finance projects.
Catalina completed a postdoctoral Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University. She holds a PhD in Development Economics and a MA in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. She also holds BAs in Economics and Philosophy from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.
