We currently operate in Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Pakistan, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Our partners include international development organizations, such as WFP and IFAD; as well as multinational companies with strong sustainability programs, such as Nestle, Nespresso. Our work includes the assessment, design and implementation of insurance programs. Our prospective partners include international development organizations, multilateral and bilateral donors, foundations and companies with strong sustainability agendas.

About the role

We are looking to hire a Global Business Development Manager to increase our impact by sourcing new projects for the pipeline. This person will build and develop relationships with public and private sector organizations to explore how Blue Marble solutions can support achieving their sustainability goals. This will require fostering strong partnerships with prospective partners, and closely working with the Blue Marble modeling and operations teams to develop and present concepts and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a business development plan in line with the company’s three year strategy and executes it

  • Maps out prospective partners, including RFP calendars, as well as the most effective channels to reach to them

  • Sources, develops, defines, and builds business relationships and partnerships with public and private sector organizations

  • Leads the creation of proposals in response to RFPs and the creation of targeted presentations for prospective clients

  • Sources or proposes potential projects by contacting potential partners, for example reaching out via LinkedIn

  • Screens potential projects by analyzing the needs of potential partners, internal capabilities to deliver and funding options, for example by matching an opportunity with a donor’s agenda

  • Closes new partnerships by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations

  • Documents the business development process, leveraging existing lessons learned, to efficiently replicate at scale

  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry groups and related events, publications, and announcements, including signing-up to alerts

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA in Business Administration, International Development or or a related field

  • 3 – 5 years of business development or sales experience
